This Classic Toyota Land Cruiser Can Be Yours for a Surprisingly Cheap Price

But this 1971 Land Cruiser restomod is far removed from its modern kin. The vintage 4×4 comes from the J40 generation, a stage in which the Land Cruiser had all of the grit of a Jeep Wrangler in a smaller package.

The rugged custom 4×4 is an off-roader’s dream.

If the words «Toyota Land Cruiser» don’t rev your engine, we understand-the current J200 series isn’t exactly eye-catching.

It runs a rebuilt 3.9-liter straight-six with 21,000 miles and a three-speed manual transmission that can deliver power to the rear or all wheels. The current seller added a host of upgraded components, including an Old Man Emu lift kit, new ball joints, tie rod ends, body mounts, brakes, and knobby BFGoodrich All-Terrain tires.

That imposing external shell also received a lot of love. It was striped to bare metal and then dressed in its current gray matte finish before getting matching bumpers, Specter fender flares, Hella headlights, a white grille surround and front tow hooks.

Behind the Bestop soft-top and brand new doors is a three-spoke steering wheel, factory gauge cluster, modern Recaro-style sport seats and custom marine carpeting. Inside and out, the classic off-roader is clean as can be.

Best of all, you can probably scoop this 1971 Toyota Land Cruiser up for a bargain. The current bid is listed at $13,500 on Build a Trailer, and there are only four days left left in the auction.

Just make sure you can make it to Portland to pick it up.
