Excellence and superior achievement in the home and gift industry were recognized July 13 at the eighth annual ICON Honors. Staged at Atlanta’s Fox Theatre, guests enjoyed an evening of cocktails, an elaborate buffet, the awards presentation and a special musical performance by The Indigo Girls.

“My father, after the second world war, started importing and exporting anything he could get his hands on…pineapples from Hawaii to Germany, porcelain from Germany to the US, and gradually got into these decorative birds and angels he found in Southern Germany,” said Clifford Adler, about the beginnings of Kurt S. Adler, a 2017 ICON honoree. “He gave a European feel to Christmas for the first time in the US.”

The ICON Honors 2017 honorees and video subjects are:

Retailers, manufacturers, sales agencies and service providers were eligible to pursue recognition in several categories of competition and honorees were selected through extensive adjudication by experts from the worlds of design, manufacturing and product development.
