Lenise Willis’ Pick: On-the-Go Brew
Coffee is the first thing I think about in the morning and the thing that gets me through every day. I can’t get enough of it; there’s just something soothing about its warmth and aroma-and of course, that caffeine kick ain’t bad either! But I’m also on the go a lot and I hate to admit that sometimes I rely on instant coffee because it travels easier and I don’t always have a coffee pot around.
That’s why I now always pack my Brumi. The Brumi is a hot and cold pour-over brew bottle, so it’s basically a travel coffee pot and coffee mug in one. It’s glass, so it doesn’t affect the taste of my coffee like other plastic or even steel bottles have in the past, and it has a nice cork sleeve to keep my hands from getting too hot.
You simply put two spoonfuls of coffee in the basket just underneath the lid, slowly pour hot water over the grinds and let it drip into your cup. Throw out the grinds, re-screw on the lid and it’s ready to go! The coffee is strong, too, just like I like it. You can also use it to cold brew coffee, but I haven’t tried that option yet.
Anne-Marie Earl’s Pick: Disorganized, yet Delightful
At the office, I have schedules to develop and follow, formatting to fix and all other organizational tasks. My brain may have it together, but my desk area is a little bit of a mess. (Much like my home, I’ll admit.) A beautiful-smelling candle or fresh-scented plug-in usually makes me feel better about the chaos, but Willowbrook has me hooked on sachets these days.
Their Elephant sachet smells of “exotic woods and amber enhanced with black current and delicate violet,” and I hide those sweet little pockets everywhere! I’ve tucked one into my desk drawer, one in my bedroom closet, one in my car and one in my guest bedroom. They’ve been going strong for three weeks and have yet to fade.
Brianna Glenn’s Pick: Bottle Flip Challenge Accepted!
At first I said to myself “Bottle Flip-as in ‘spin the bottle?” I was immediately intrigued. Bottle Flip is a game of chance-It’s all about where you land. Depending on which target you land on, each player is dared to complete a Bottle Flip challenge. As each challenge is completed, players move along the playing board and then achieve bottle flip greatness!
I was delighted to receive the game here to the office-my co-workers came by my cubicle and questioned “what’s that?” We joked that we should have a Bottle Flip Challenge in the breakroom during our lunch break s one day. A couple of days later, after the hype had died down, one of my co-workers, Kristen, stopped mid stride and said “oh my gosh, my kids would flip over this game.”
Apparently her kids have quite a knack for flipping bottles and doing tricks with them, and the game they make of it has been one that entertains the whole household. Needless to say, I passed it along to Kristen to take home. She smiled in excitement and said “I’m going to be mom of the year for this one!”
