Developers love to bring back old classics to a game’s sequel, and soon Destiny 2 players can have the chance to fight with some well-known exotics used in the first game. Data miners have recently combed through the electronic trenches of Destiny 2 and found important files hinting at the return of the Thunderlord, Icebreaker, and The Last Word.
The hunt for information about these exotics first sparked when notable Reddit leaker AnonTheNine hinted at it in this post. How good is AnonTheNine as a source? The user comes with a reliable history, and they recently broke about some details that are supposedly going to show up in Destiny 3.
Many users took what AnonTheNine had to say with a good amount of credibility. Time went on, and data miners were determined to find some hints in the rubble.
One data miner, ImaginaryEscapism, discovered a sizeable chunk of audio files, which you can run through here. Several of the earlier files provide hints at the Cosmodrome; this is the starting area players explore in the first Destiny. How does the Cosmodrome fit into all of this?
For those who don’t know, this was where you could first grab the Thunderlord in the original game. The return of the Cosmodrome leads many to believe the Thunderlord comes with it.
The Thunderlord is set to release in Destiny 2’s Festival of the Lost Halloween event. Though the other two, Icebreaker and The Last Word, won’t be there, there’s still have plenty of time to return in the future.
What do you think about the potential return of these exotics? Do you hope they return slightly changed? Let us know in the comments below, and be sure to check out the rumors of Destiny 3 in the works here on GameSkinny.
