At nuclear power plants started in a big student building

In Novovoronezh hosted the opening ceremony of Interregional student construction project “peaceful atom-2018”. 84 students, consisting of six construction teams from Voronezh, Vologda, Tambov and Moscow more than a month will work for Novovoronezh NPP-2.

Boys will be involved in electrical, plastering and painting works, installation of equipment and steel structures, and for women reserved seats in offices, their job is to do the documentation.

We are very pleased to welcome student construction teams. I hope the course of the semester will be held with a benefit: you will get new knowledge, skills, and, of course, will find new friends. But don’t forget the rules of labor protection. Remember, safety first – instruct students, the Director of the Novovoronezh branch of Directorate for construction of Novovoronezh NPP -2 JSC “Atomenergoproekt” Oleg Borodin.

Fighters student construction brigades will live in the camp area, located on the outskirts of the city of Novovoronezh. There are Green staff, in which students can contact with any questions.

In addition, the youth planned an extensive cultural program: art festivals, contests, cards, sports day, a beauty contest “Miss and Mister “atoms for peace-2018” and many more.

At the close of the season, which will be held on the last Friday of August, will be known the names of the best fighters and the best team will get the victorious red banner of Interregional student construction project “peaceful atom-2018”.

Indian nuclear scientists have visited Novovoronezh NPP to strengthen cooperation

Novovoronezh NPP on Friday, July 6, was attended by representatives of the Department of atomic energy government of India, the Indian Corporation for atomic energy (Nuclear Power Corporation of India Ltd., NPCIL)and the company “RusAtom overseas”. The purpose of their visit was the strengthening of Russian-Indian cooperation in the field of use of atomic energy.

Indian nuclear experts told about the current status of operating units and the features and operation of water-moderated power reactors of the body type with the usual pressurized water (VVER-1200) generation “3+”.

Foreign experts visited the training center nuclear plant, block control room, engine room, Central control room and closed switchgear KRUE-500 innovative power unit No. 1 of Novovoronezh NPP-2 “3+” generation. In addition, they visited the construction of power unit №2 of the NPP-2, where they were introduced to the center of the field of engineering of JSC “Atomenergoproekt”.

India and Russia cooperate in nuclear energy since 1988. Key project – the construction of NPP “Kudankulam” in the South of India. The project involves the construction of six power units with reactors of type VVER-1000 reactors in commercial operation has already commissioned power generating units No. 1 and No. 2 nuclear power plant Kudankulam, the construction of power units No. 3 and No. 4, being earthworks and infrastructure works at the site of the third phase: the units 5 and 6.

Novovoronezh NPP was visited by the lecturers from the countries-newcomers in nuclear energy

Novovoronezh NPP was visited by professors of leading universities from 12 countries-beginners who only recently started or plan to develop in their territories of nuclear technology for peaceful purposes. The delegation included 30 teachers from Turkey, Egypt, Bangladesh, Uzbekistan, Poland, Spain, Australia, Bolivia, Indonesia, South Africa, Zambia and Nigeria.

During tours of the innovation unit of generation “3+”, the guests visited the block control room, and should be able to cut, talked with managers and technical specialists of Novovoronezh NPP.

– I am amazed at the Novovoronezh nuclear plant and Russian technologies. Nuclear power plant workers have rich experience of communication with foreign delegations. All of them – highly qualified specialists. Back home, I will report to my colleagues that we need experts to train personnel of the atomic power station – said Mohamed Sheriff Alkot, Professor at the University of ain Shams.

Study tour for representatives of foreign universities was held in the framework of the training course on the technological aspects of reactors VVER-1200, and the development of education programmes on VVER technology. Delegates learned how the process of learning and training nuclear power plant, familiarized themselves with various simulators and classrooms for theoretical and practical lessons, visited the classroom of virtual reality.

In December 2017 in Cairo, the head of Rosatom Alexey Likhachev and Minister of electricity and renewable energy of Egypt Mohamed shaker signed the acts on the coming into force of commercial contracts for the construction of nuclear power plants, “El Daba”. Russia will build four power units with reactors VVER-1200 in the region of Matruh on the Mediterranean coast.
