NPP started a final test

In stage cold-hot break-in (COM) equipment at unit 2 of Novovoronezh NPP-2 (power unit No. 7 of NVNPP) on August 10 at 13:40 successfully completed hydraulic tests of the second circuit on the density and strength. Stage cold–hot running equipment is the last major manufacturing operation before the physical start – began at unit 1 Aug.

– Tests are carried out in accordance with the programme of commissioning works at the station, – said Deputy chief engineer of Novovoronezh NPP for the construction of new blocks of Vladimir Kazan. – Hydraulic tests of the second circuit of strength – one of stages of preparation of the unit for hot running, which is confirmed by the performance of main and auxiliary equipment and systems of the reactor plant.

During pressure testing, the second contour of reactor installation has been filled with feed water (chemically desalted water), and steam generators and related piping and fittings were “loaded” by the pressure of liquids to test their density and strength. The test pressure created in the second circuit, was 11.5 MPa. The tests confirmed that the equipment and pipelines of the second circuit manufactured and assembled efficiently, their thermal-hydraulic, strength, vibration and dynamic characteristics of the design.

Hydraulic tests were carried out on cold water by the operation of the main circulation pumps and electric heaters of the pressurizer water of the primary circuit heats the water of the second loop to a temperature of 100 – 110 °C.

Thus, the successful implementation of all tests in the “cold” phase of the cold-hot running-in of equipment of power unit No. 2 of Novovoronezh NPP-2 (No. 7 Novovoronezh NPP) will mean a transition to the next phase of the stage is “hot”.

At Novovoronezh NPP is now one step closer to the start of the second unit of a new generation

At unit 2 of Novovoronezh NPP-2 (No. 7 Novovoronezh NPP) specialists completed an important pre-process step – the installation of the turbine on walpoloanae device.

This event was preceded by a large complex of works: elements of the turbine between them and a high-precision alignment, closing of the cylinders of high and low pressure. Professionals prepared to work in the lubrication, of hydropathy rotors of the turbine, walpoloanae device.

The purpose of the installation of the turbine on filopovic – verification of the correct Assembly and alignment of all elements of the turbine and the position of its axis relative to the shaft of the turbogenerator.

Filopovic – the beginning of the rotation of the turbine thanks to on the gearbox. During this operation, tested and adjusted system hydropathy, lubrication, cooling and heating oil, etc.

– During the rotation of the turbine problems were recorded, which indicates a high build quality and careful joining of all its elements, – has noted the senior shift supervisor of nuclear power plant Roman Gridnev.

The next step is the completion of installation of system of separation and prosperarea pair that participates in the test set vacuum in the condensers of the turbine. After this manufacturing operation, the turbine of unit 2 of Novovoronezh NPP-2 will be actually ready to its physical start-up.

As at Novovoronezh NPP is moving preparing to launch the second unit of a new generation

August 15, 2018 for unit 2 of Novovoronezh NPP-2 (power unit No. 7 of Novovoronezh NPP) ended the “cold” phase of the cold-hot running equipment (COM).

COM is the most important stage of commissioning prior to physical start-up. It is carried out to verify the reliable and safe operation of the unit. Hot-cold running-in started on 1 August 2018 and will last 60 days.

In the phase “cold” phase of the COM at unit 2 of Novovoronezh NPP-2 (power unit No. 7 of Novovoronezh NPP) was successfully conducted 68 thermal-hydraulic tests: checked for tightness and the strength of the first and second circuits of the reactor plant (RP), tested main circulation pumps (MCP) for cold settings, filled with nutrients (chemically demineralized water) steam generators, tested walpoloanae device of the turbine, etc.

The end of the cold phase cold-hot running-in marks the beginning of a small audit of the basic equipment that will last 15 days.

– On the small stage of the audit will be performed preparation of equipment for commissioning during the “hot” phase of the COM, including setting the Executive control system and reactor protection, the imposition of thermal insulation on equipment and piping, – noted Deputy chief engineer of Novovoronezh NPP for the construction of new blocks of Vladimir Kazan.

In the next stage of commissioning – the “hot” phase of the COM – pass tests of main and auxiliary equipment and systems in the reactor plant design, operating modes.

After cold-hot run will begin testing of hermetic barriers on the density and strength. Then the audit of the basic equipment, the dismantling of the reactor with extraction of simulators fuel assemblies (FAS). After receiving permission to fizuck will start loading fuel assemblies into the reactor of unit 2 of Novovoronezh NPP-2 (power unit No. 7 of the Novovoronezh NPP), i.e. the stage of physical start-up.
