In the race competed only scientists and researchers of the RAS. “A feature of these competitions that there are not only powerful, but also smart. Competitions are not among professionals, and among the scientists and staff of institutions of the RAS”, – explained the correspondent NGS geologist Marina Abildayeva.
In the race involved three teams Novosibirsk: IGM so ran, Institute of nuclear physics (BINP) SB RAS and the trade Unions of the Novosibirsk scientific centre of SB RAS. In the distance they met with rivals from Moscow, Irkutsk, Tomsk, Perm, Ufa, Yekaterinburg and Nizhny Novgorod.
During the three competition days, the race was held for 5, 10, 15 kilometers in two styles – classic and skate, and relay.
In the team competition was won by the geologists, and the INP took the bronze. Second place went to the team of the Moscow regional organization of trade Union of the RAS.
Geologists brought to Novosibirsk for a challenge Cup, which now bears the engraving of the team of the Institute.
“This year fewer people was because of the scarcity of funding – a total of 45 people. Even a year ago from Vladivostok scientists have come to the race in Moscow”, – said the geologist.
The team of the Institute of Geology and Mineralogy (IGM) SB RAS was victorious in the XII all-Russian competitions in ski racing “academied” which took place in the town of Chusovoy of the Perm region.
Marina Abildayeva not only brought his team needed points, but also won two gold and one silver medal in the individual competition.
“In parallel personal credit. I first classic race won, second race the horse was lost – became second in the overall classification. The third race was won by just a second. My main opponent was born in 1960 – aunt experienced from Moscow”, – she told.
According to Marina, despite the fact that the first month of spring has passed, in the Perm region with perfect conditions for ski racing: “There are woods and lots of snow now. We left Novosibirsk, it was in the water, and there in the spring and does not smell.”
“There is something else unusual in these competitions. There is a provision of a program of scientific gatherings. In the evening guests do popular science reports in their area. We listened to the reports about the anthropogenic impact on the littoral zone of lake Baikal, about the geochronology of the earth,” – said Marina.
In preparation for the all-Russia competition, the Novosibirsk scientists participated in local competitions. So, in the beginning of March in Akademgorodok, a mass ski race “Novosibirsk classic marathon”.
