In Morocco ended in the international race in the desert Marathon Des Sables – it took part two of the city’s residents.
“The race was interesting, each day, the participants awaited a new test – sore feet, stretched ligaments caused by problems with equipment. For the evening it was necessary to recover the body and equipment to the next stage. We had an amazing Russian team, all together we were able to walk to the finish line and show the best we can”, – shared his impressions of the Novosibirsk runner Michael Trump.
Thirty-third “sandy marathon” was held from 6 to 16 April. Officially the sports festival continues, but the competition ended yesterday.
“The competition is held on the territory of the Sahara desert and consists of six cross-country stages from 30 to 86 kilometers with a total length of 250 kilometers,” – said Michael Trump.
As said the athlete who just this year participated in the race 1069 people, including nine Russians. Among them, at the start there were representatives of Novosibirsk Michael Trump and Victor Krasnousol. First overcame the distance in 3 hours 26 minutes, the second for 26 hours and 6 minutes. This 18-th and 19-th place, respectively.
According to Michael Trump, a feature of this marathon is not only weather conditions, but that food and equipment athletes are in backpacks during the race. “Every day is for organizers to give ten liters of water and provide a bed in the eight-bivouac – tent with an outdoor entrance,” explained runner.

Last autumn Mikhail Kozyr together with two other Novosibirsk Ilya Gavrilovich and Anton Shchukin participated in the Ironman 70.3 race in Turkey. Athletes overcame 113 km: 1.9 km swim, 90 km bike and 21.1 kilometre run.
