Ukraine has its first problems because of the Crimean bridge

Ships of the Panamax type will no longer be able to enter the Sea of Azov. This statement was made by the head of the Mariupol Sea Port Administration Igor Barsky.

“We evaluated the vessels that have visited us over the past three years, and so the 144 ships that entered the Mariupol port will no longer be able to enter the Sea of Azov, in other words, they worked in this market,” he said in a comment to one of Ukrainian media.

Note, Panamax is a type of container ship, as well as tankers and other vessels that have the maximum dimensions that allow you to pass through the locks of the Panama Canal.

Recall that Ukraine filed a petition with the International Tribunal for the protection of sovereign interests in connection with the construction of the Kerch (Crimean) bridge by Russia. The representative of the President of Ukraine Irina Lutsenko reported that a decision on this issue is expected to be taken in 2019.

The prosecutor’s office of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, which is located in Kiev, opened a criminal case in connection with the construction of the bridge. Law enforcers are confident that the construction of this facility was carried out in violation of the Water Code of Ukraine, as well as international law.

The Kerch bridge connects the territory of the occupied Crimea with Russia. Its construction began in 2015 by the general contractor Stroygazmontazh, a company owned by Russian billionaire Arkady Rotenberg (in some circles the businessman is called Putin’s close friend).

Yuri Medovar, a senior fellow at the Institute of Water Problems of the Russian Academy of Sciences, reports that the soils on which the bridge is built are not suitable for such a gigantic structure.

“I have repeatedly noted: you cannot build a bridge. The main danger of the Kerch bridge was originally in violation of building codes. They note that arched bridges (and this is an arched bridge) in seismic areas (and this is a seismic area) can only be built on rocks such as granite or similar, which do not sag and hold the load. And in the Kerch Strait, semi-solid clays saturated with water and sand. Therefore, cracks and subsidence appear, ”Medovar noted.

Dzhemilev: They confirmed in Moscow — Russia brought nuclear weapons to Crimea

Russia actually deployed nuclear weapons in the occupied Crimea, which was confirmed even in Moscow. The Kremlin needs the peninsula solely as a military base.

This was told by the People’s Deputy, authorized by the President of Ukraine for the affairs of the Crimean Tatar people Mustafa Dzhemilev.

“Regarding the nuclear arsenal. Neither our intelligence nor NATO intelligence clearly confirms its presence in Crimea. They say it could be, but there is no evidence yet. However, we have information from the place, as well as from a source from Moscow that they already have nuclear warheads there. A source from Moscow confirmed that there are already six nuclear warheads there, ”said Dzhemilev and added that the facility is located near Feodosia in the Kyzyltash grove, where there used to be a nuclear storage facility.

He stressed that one of the first things after the capture of the peninsula, Russia began to restore the nuclear base, from where all the workers with Crimean registration were “expelled”.

“At first, loaders who drove materials, including Crimean Tatars, could call in there. But at some stage, all these workers were removed and attracted people brought from Russia. Now the facility has a triple ring of enhanced security with video surveillance. People walk there with Geiger counters (radiation detectors — ed.) And check the radioactive background. These are, so to speak, indirect confirmations that there are nuclear weapons there, ”the Crimean Tatar leader said.

The politician also noted that the Crimea of Russia is needed as an “unsinkable aircraft carrier”, where the military contingent from 60 to 80 thousand is already concentrated.

“But even if we are talking about 60 thousand soldiers, then for such a small peninsula with an area of 27 thousand square kilometers this is a huge amount,” Dzhemilev emphasized.

Irresponsible policy: Ukraine pointed to a serious flaw in the authorities on the issue of Crimea

Aider Muzhdabaev, deputy director general of the Crimean Tatar television channel ATR, a well-known journalist, said that along with fruitful work to return Crimea to the international arena, the Ukrainian authorities are conducting an irresponsible domestic policy on this issue.

He voiced this opinion in an interview with the Apostrophe.

Muzhdabaev noted that the rhetoric of the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko regarding Crimea seems correct to him, but he also needs to be supported by timely deeds.

The journalist is sure that if the provisions of the law on the indigenous people of the Crimea were correctly explained to the deputies, he would certainly gain the necessary votes.

“They are not engaged in propaganda in the good sense of the word, nor in strengthening the position in the Crimea. In the international arena, much has been done for the Crimea. True, there is consistent work being done there. Do you know a lot of acts in Crimea in domestic politics? There is no program, nothing, ”stated Muzhdabaev.

He also criticized the provisions of Bill No. 8297, which proposed taking Ukrainian citizenship from Crimeans for participating in the Russian elections.

“Yes, they will redo it. But the people in Crimea, when they read, immediately understood: that means we are no longer needed, you will not fight for us, you will simply throw us away at the first opportunity. For example, it says that they can be deprived of citizenship for participating in the elections — but they the invaders sign the lists, they can tick off that anyone voted — and for this, too, can be deprived of citizenship.

They the Ukrainian government are terribly upsetting the inhabitants of Crimea, making it clear that the authorities do not live in their reality, that they do not think about them. This is the worst chill on the back when a person living in an occupation realizes that they don’t think about him at all. This is such an irresponsible policy. The image of Poroshenko with this stupid law was so discredited in the eyes of the inhabitants of the Crimea, not only of the Crimean Tatars — there are many immigrants, their relatives. In the place of the president, I would simply fill the face of the person who wrote, throw him out of the window (I don’t know how many floors there are on Bankova). Terrible unprofessionalism in power, ”the journalist explained.
