The Crimea annexed by the Russian Federation over time will face the same fate that befell another territory occupied by the Russian Federation — the unrecognized Abkhazia (Georgia), where complete devastation now reigns.
This opinion was expressed by the Russian opposition and political expert Konstantin Borovoi.
“To understand what awaits Crimea, we can look at the state of the economy of Abkhazia. This territory has developed very intensively as part of Georgia thanks to tourism. And today there is a different situation, ”he said.
Also, in this context, the Russian opposition remembered a demonstration photo from Abkhazia, which shows an electric train through which a tree sprouted.
“After some time, Crimea will be in the same condition. And the security forces, as I understand it, as well as in Abkhazia, will restrain the information and human exchange between Crimea and Russia, ”Borovoy said.
Putin and Trump meeting: Crimea and Donbass waiting for a fateful decision
During a meeting between the presidents of the United States and the Russian Federation, the issue of Ukrainian Crimea and Donbass may take on an unexpected form
“Trump cannot give Crimea to Russia because it does not belong to him, but the US president can offer Russia to follow the Baltic scenario when the USA did not recognize the occupation of Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia by the Soviet Union, but did nothing to free them. In exchange for this, the Russian Federation will be required to completely withdraw Russian troops from the Donbas and restore the territorial integrity of Ukraine, ”he said.
According to Cohen, in exchange for this, the Russian Federation may demand the lifting of US sanctions. However, here, Trump will have an advantage.
“The Trump administration may also require the Kremlin to no longer use military force to change borders in the post-Soviet space,” he stressed.
In the coming year, Putin will firmly tackle Ukraine
Russia’s intervention in the Ukrainian elections will be total, and the goal of Moscow is to destitute the pro-Kremlin candidate through destabilizing the situation in Ukraine.
This opinion was expressed by the coordinator of the group “Information Resistance”, MP Dmitry Tymchuk.
In his opinion, Moscow is relying not on military operations, but on interference in the election campaign in Ukraine, which starts in the fall. With its ability to influence processes, the Kremlin will destabilize the situation.
“Their first strategic line is to achieve the coming to power in Ukraine of pro-Russian forces, respectively, then all the problems of the Kremlin are generally resolved. They will negotiate with the leaders of the same presidential race. With those of them that Moscow considers to be negotiable, and which even we can position themselves as completely pro-Ukrainian and patriotic. These candidates will try for some dividends, through some bargaining to get loyalty to themselves from the Kremlin, and Moscow will achieve some goals in the Donbass, ”Tymchuk said.
After the “victory of the Kremlin” in the Ukrainian elections, the Ordlo will leave Ukraine and hang all the problems of the region in Kiev, and Moscow will have control.
“This is a political line,” the People’s Deputy explained.
But with what tactics Moscow will come to the Ukrainian elections — everything will be traditionally and in Putin’s style.
“During the election campaign, we can expect intensification of various protests that will be organized by the leaders of various so-called opposition political forces, blocking the Verkhovna Rada, the Cabinet of Ministers, state institutions and so on. And just against this background, the “holy” tactics of Moscow that we have been observing for the last two years — supporting protests, arranging provocations, including violent ones, in order to destabilize the situation inside Ukraine as much as possible, ”are triggered,” the politician emphasized.
Four more Russian books entered the “black list”
The list of publications prohibited for import into Ukraine expanded by ten points. Under the ban were Russian, Ukrainian books and publications from «L / DPR».
At the moment, the State Committee for Television and Radio Broadcasting has expanded to 184 books the list of publications whose contents are aimed at eliminating the independence of Ukraine, promoting violence, inciting interethnic, racial, religious hatred, committing terrorist attacks, and encroachment on human rights and freedoms.
It is noted that the list is supplemented by four Russian books — now it contains 178 Russian publications. Also on the list are two books from separate regions of Donetsk and Lugansk regions and four from Ukraine.
In particular, the list includes books: Ukrainian Plague. The history of the confrontation and armed struggle of the Soviet administration with the Ukrainian nationalist movement on the territory of Western Ukraine in 1945-1955 (Oleg Rakityansky), Ukraine! Was there Ukraine? and Bloody tears of Ukraine (Anatoly Tereshchenko), as well as the Origin of Ukrainian separatism (Nikolai Ulyanov).
