4 Tips for Back to School Shopping
- Set your budget! This is an important step so I felt the need to repeat myself.
- To help you stretch those back to school bucks shop the sales (I use Shoptagr to track everything on our list and stack any available coupons or rebates.
- As always, adjust your back to school shopping list depending on what you already have at home.
- Don’t buy fall clothes just yet… Buy a few new t-shirts and shorts (maybe three each) for the first few weeks of school. Take advantage of low prices on summer clothes and stock up in one or two sizes up (depending on how fast your kids grow) for next spring.
Fall clothes will start going on sale and on clearance in October. Save some cash now to stock up in the fall.
My First Time Mom Mistake
I made a first time mom mistake when my daughter was in kindergarten. I went crazy at the sales and stocked up on color pencils, markers, pencil boxes, notebooks, and anything else that was on sale.
Guess how much of what I bought was actually on her teachers list… maybe one or two things. Turns out her teacher didn’t ask for much. We ended up putting the supplies to good use but I don’t want you to spend a single dollar that you don’t need to.
