Burger Index increased in Novosibirsk

Novosibirsk citizens can afford to buy more burgers for an average salary. These are the conclusions reached by the experts of the Delivery Club service after the second wave of research on the so-called Burger Index.

The average price of a burger in the city dropped from 350 to 250 rubles, the authors of the study note.

As before, the study was conducted in 18 largest Russian cities and was prepared using official data on average wages and the cost of living. The researchers divided the difference between these values by the average cost of a burger in cities.

“The impetus for the second wave of the study was the change in the subsistence minimum since the beginning of this year, as well as the outlined growth in the average monthly wages of state employees,” the press service of the service informs.

It turned out that in our city the Burger Index had increased to 90 – that is how many buns with a cutlet a resident of our city can afford for an average salary minus the living wage.

“In Novosibirsk, the burger index increased by the same 30 points, as the average price of a product fell nicely – from 350 to 250 rubles, the salary” on average for a Novosibirsk hospital “increased by 800 rubles, the cost of living is even higher here than in Tyumen, although The “burger residue” of a conventional resident is almost as much as 7,500 rubles less. Phenomenon! Probably, young scientists and IT specialists of the scientific center prefer burgers, ”comments on the results of the Delivery Club study.

Last September, an NGS correspondent developed the calculations of the authors of the study and found out that Novosibirsk can afford only 1.25 burgers a day.
