Manchester girl’s trousers from PLT are length of her body

The 5ft 2in hairdresser from from Salford, Manchester, shared a picture of the flares online, writing: ‘When Pretty Little Thing think I have legs like Kendall Jenner’.

She was comparing herself to leggy model Kendall, who is reportedly 5ft 10in – much to the amusement of her friends.

A teenager was forced to tell a fashion brand that she does not have ‘legs like Kendall Jenner’ after ordering a pair of trousers online – only for them to be the length of her entire body.

Bethany McNamara, 18, ordered the trousers ready for a night out on October 7 but was stunned to discover the waistband of the high-waisted flares managed to reach up to her chin.

Bethany admitted: ‘Sometimes I think I should just stick to wearing skirts on nights out but it’s winter now. It is too cold to be wearing skirts, I need something covering my legs’

The ‘ridiculously long’ trousers were swiftly sent back, as Bethany feared she would have been left ‘looking like Simon Cowell’ – who is famously fond of a baggy flare – if she went out wearing them.

Bethany said: ‘I shop at Pretty Little Thing a lot. I love their clothes and always go to them when I need an outfit for a night out.

‘I ordered the trousers last week and when they arrived I went straight to try them on.

‘Sometimes the sizing can be off so normally I order a couple but this time I just ordered a size 8.

‘When I opened the parcel, I picked the trousers up and I did think they were a bit long but I put them on anyway. I didn’t think they would be as big as they actually were.

‘At first I thought I would try them with some heels but there was still too much material past my feet at the bottom.

‘I did consider getting them taken up but they are a flare so the trousers would lose their shape.’

She added: ‘I took them off and held them up against me to see just how long they were. When I put them against my body I couldn’t believe that they actually reached my chin.

‘They looked like something Simon Cowell would wear. They must think I have legs like Kendall Jenner or a supermodel. They are already on their way back to the shop.

‘I just ticked that they were too big on the return form, maybe I should have explained that they were ridiculously long.’

After sending the trousers back, Bethany had to search for a new outfit for her night out and says she may consider sticking to skirts from now on.

‘I also struggle with playsuits too as every one I buy just never fits. They’re always too long but I can sometimes solve it by wearing heels.’

A spokesperson from Pretty Little Thing said: ‘We take anything like this seriously and will investigate into this specific case, as well as investigating with any suppliers involved in this style along with our quality control department.’
