A reason to worry. The author of the «black swan» about a new danger to the world

To prevent potential pandemics, states will introduce additional control measures at airports and at the borders to limit the so-called “super-distributors” of diseases, said Nassim Taleb, economist and author of the theory of the “black swan,” to RIA Novosti on the sidelines of the Synergy Online Forum.

The specialist refused to consider COVID-19 a “black swan”, since the latter refers to an event that cannot be predicted, and the onset of the pandemic caused by the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus was generally predictable. According to the economist, the current pandemic is a “gray” or “white swan”.
Along with this, Taleb urged to pay attention to the new coming upheavals that mankind can expect.

«Now we need to worry about GMOs (genetically modified organisms, — Ed.), Genetic modifications as one source of vulnerability, and people will now pay attention to this,» said Nassim Taleb.
