Former Manchester United player to start Olympic torch relay ahead of 2018 Games

Park Ji Sun will be the first to carry the torch after lighting it in Greece.

Former Manchester United and South Korea midfielder Park Ji Sung will be the first torchbearer of the 2018 Pyeong Chang Olympic torch relay .

The footballer will be the first to run the Olympic torch after the lighting ceremony on October 24 in Olympia, Greece.

The relay itself across the territory of South Korea will begin on November 1, one hundred days before the opening of the Games in Pyeongchang, which will take place on February 9.

The Olympic torch relay will pass through 17 cities and provinces, and 7.5 thousand torchbearers will take part in it. The total length of the route will be 2018 kilometers.

Park Ji Sung as part of the Mankunians became the four-year champion of England, won the Champions League and the World Club Championship.
