The dark paintings, created in prison by serial killer John Wayne Gacy, also known as «Pogo the Clown,» are on sale at Mullock’s Auctions. Bidding will take place on October 15th in Shropshire, with a starting price of $ 9,000 each.
Writes about this on Monday, October 9, the British tabloid The Daily Mail.
Gacy, a mass entertainer by profession, between 1972 and 1978, trapped, raped and killed at least thirty-three teenagers and young men aged 14 to 25 years. The bodies of 29 of them were found in the basement of the house where the killer lived — covered in concrete. He drowned four more in the river.
During a search in his house, a photograph was found in which Gacy stands next to Rosalyn Carter, the future first lady of the United States. On his jacket he bears the insignia of the Secret Service officer in charge of protecting the President of the United States.
During the preliminary investigation, the maniac stated that he suffered from a split personality, and that all the crimes were committed not by him, but by his alter ego — Jack Hanley. Psychiatric examination revealed a whole range of problems in Gacy: alcohol and drug addiction, sexual perversions, an illusory idea of reality, inadequacy of assessments and judgments, and schizoid transformations of the psyche.
The court found Gacy guilty of premeditated murder of 33 people and sentenced to 21 life sentences and 12 death sentences. On May 10, 1994, the sentence was carried out by intravenous injection. Gacy showed no remorse before dying — his last words were: «Kiss my ass.» This phrase was addressed to the guard who led him to his execution.
