On Sunday, October 15, the introduction of new banknotes in denominations of 20 and 100 shekels begins, Israeli media reported with reference to the Bank of Israel.
At the end of January this year, the official image of the new banknotes and their technical characteristics were published for review.
The introduction of the new banknote into circulation was preceded by a large-scale explanatory campaign, within the framework of which all the distinctive features of the new money were explained to the population.
The old banknotes will be in circulation in parallel with the new ones for several years.
