Russian tennis player Maria Sharapova will take part in the VTB Kremlin Cup tournament. This was reported to TASS by the organizing committee of the tournament.
«For a long time, the participation of the eminent athlete was questionable , and caused a large number of rumors and controversy. Today it was confirmed that Maria will fly to Moscow immediately after the end of her performance at the WTA tournament in Tianjin, China and will receive a wild card in the main draw from the organizers of the tournament,» — said the press service.
«VTB Kremlin Cup» will be held from 14 to 22 October on the courts of the Olympic sports complex.
Sharapova took part in the tournament three times (2005, 2006 and 2007), the best result of the Russian woman at the Kremlin Cup is reaching the quarter finals.
