Gazelle hit a 10-year-old boy at a pedestrian crossing in Novosibirsk.  Traffic police inspectors work at the scene of the accident

On Monday, February 1, in the Leninsky District, a 10-year-old boy fell under the wheels of a Gazelle truck while crossing Titova Street. An eyewitness Dmitry Zvonarev told the NGS correspondent about the incident.

— I was driving home along Titov, where there is a new road to Chistaya Sloboda, and I saw how a man, maybe even a teenager, was hit by a Gazelle. As I understand the picture, he was crossing the road at an unregulated pedestrian crossing, he was thrown at least 15 meters away.

The accident happened at about 16:50. The driver born in 1979 was driving a Gazel truck along Titov Street from Biyskaya towards Port Arthur. In the area of the house at 232/1 Titov, he ran into a child born in 2010 — he was crossing the road in the zone of an unregulated pedestrian crossing.

As a result of the accident, the boy was taken to a hospital in serious condition. Now a traffic police crew is working on the spot, inspectors are clarifying all the circumstances of the incident.

Eyewitness Dmitry Zvonarev said that the accident happened on a dangerous section of the road:

— There, cars are constantly being driven, signs are not observed, pedestrians are not allowed through, this is rudeness. You need at least 40 km / h, while there are no traffic lights connected, no police officers, no cameras, but usually they are worn under 80 km / h, and in the summer and for a hundred square meters. And next to there are kindergartens, a school, it’s scary for the children, in fact, because many there and from the private sector walk, run across the road to and fro. I myself was somehow hit by a car on the side of the road, it took seven months to recover, I know what it is …

In January, a 10-year-old boy was also injured in another accident in the Leninsky District — the child was taken to the hospital with a concussion and head injury.
