Experts from the Novosibirsk Center for Virology and Microbiology «Vector» told how long immunity to coronavirus will last after being vaccinated with the EpiVacCorona vaccine developed here.

On Thursday, February 4, a round table “Russian Science and Medicine VS COVID-19. Challenges and achievements ”. The meeting participants discussed the state of modern medical science and its achievements in the fight against coronavirus infection and other issues.

Tatiana Nepomnyashchikh, Acting Deputy General Director for Scientific and Methodological Work and International Cooperation of Vector, spoke about the benefits of the vaccine developed at the center, as well as the expected duration of immunity after vaccination.

“We expect that immunity from it will persist for a year,” the expert said.

Tatyana Nepomnyashchikh also noted that the vaccine developers did not reveal the facts of the influence of coronavirus mutations on the effectiveness of the EpiVacCorona vaccine.

Earlier we said that the large-scale production of the vaccine from «Vector» will start in February.
