In 2020, the average age of the population of Novosibirsk was 39.6 years. The average age of the population of other urban settlements of the region is 39.7 years. Such data are provided by Novosibirskstat. At the same time, this indicator is higher among villagers — 40.5 years. For comparison: in the same period of time, the average age of a Russian was 40.4 years.

Average age is related to the birth rate and life expectancy of the population. It is calculated as the sum of the ages of the entire population of the Novosibirsk region, divided by the number of its inhabitants.
