Virology Center «Vector» filed 11 millionth lawsuit against builders due to fire

The first hearing on the claim in the Arbitration Court of the Novosibirsk Region is scheduled for April 26. In Novosibirsk, the Virology Center «Vector» filed a lawsuit against a construction company that was carrying out repairs in the premises in September 2019, then a fire broke out in the center building.

As a result, the center is trying to collect 11.2 million rubles from the contractor Monolit LLC. The first hearing on the claim is scheduled for April 26.

An employee of the «Monolit» company, whom the NGS correspondent managed to reach, refused to introduce himself and comment on the situation. He asked to call another number, which was busy at the time of publication.

As a third party on the part of the defendant, the company «SMU 8 Group», which performed work at the facility, was involved in the case. The organization’s lawyer said that he was just getting acquainted with the documents. He asked to call back for comments next week, as the case is not easy and we are talking about damages after the September 2019 fire.

According to Kontur.Fokus data for 2019, Monolit LLC received revenue of 652.5 million rubles. Since 2014, Monolit has won 1.5 billion rubles in purchases for the construction and repair of various organizations. Among the customers of the company are Sukhoi Aviation Holding, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia. In 2019, the company won contracts for repairs from the Vector center for 230 million rubles and 645 thousand rubles.

The NGS correspondent also sent an official request to Rospotrebnadzor with a request to clarify the details of the claim.

On September 16, 2019, a fire broke out in the building of the Vector Virology Center, which was accompanied by an explosion. The finisher received serious burns. The fire was quickly extinguished, and later a criminal case was opened against the foreman under part 1 of Article 216 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (violation of safety rules during work, which, through negligence, entailed serious harm to health).
