The airline «Russia» (part of the Aeroflot group) will begin daily flights on the route Moscow-Magadan from the summer of next year, Aeroflot said.
«Starting from the winter season of 2018-2019, Aeroflot will increase the number of tickets for flat tariffs by an average of 12% by the affiliated airline Rossiya, and an increase in the number of flights is scheduled for a number of» sharp «destinations, for example, in the summer of 2019 flights from Moscow to Magadan will become daily, «the report said.
The program of «flat» tariffs is a single tariff with a fixed price, which does not depend on the date of purchase of the ticket.
The program is being implemented by Aeroflot since 2015. At present, flat tariffs operate on Aeroflot flights from Moscow to Vladivostok, Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, Khabarovsk, Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Magadan, Simferopol, Kaliningrad and in the opposite direction. Since 2018, the program has joined the «Russia», which has significantly increased the total volume of passenger transportation to the Far East.
In the opinion of Roman Gusarov, the editor-in-chief of the Avia.ru website, Aeroflot has been selling tickets for «flat» tariffs at unprecedented low prices for years, despite being a commercial airline.
«Nowhere else in the world does any airline operate at such low fares for such huge distances,» Gusarov told RIA Novosti.
According to him, Aeroflot performs a social function entrusted by the state — it provides transport access to remote and isolated regions of the country.
«Thanks to flat tariffs, residents of the Far East, in particular Magadan, and residents of Kaliningrad, remote from the central part of Russia, have the opportunity to travel around the country, thus Aeroflot fulfills the social function entrusted by the state,» the expert said.
In his view, the increase in «flat» tariffs by 12% by the subsidiary Rossiya is due to the fact that the demand for tickets at «flat» tariffs is very high and exceeds the capabilities of Aeroflot, so the planes are moved to those directions where demand increases.
Aeroflot has done a great job of relocating the flights of its subsidiary, Rossiya, to Sheremetyevo. At the same time, it became possible to transfer part of the authority to a subsidiary company, the Rossiya airline. «Russia» has the same high-quality air fleet — it’s wide-bodied long-range aircraft. «Aeroflot» in this case acts in concert: within the group, competition is not allowed. If Russia has the opportunity to carry passengers cheaper, then Aeroflot does not need to increase flights in this direction. The increase in volumes of «Russia» is only a plus, because the cost of tickets will be lower than that of Aeroflot and it will be able to keep flat tariffs longer, despite inflation, «the expert concluded.
