The world’s most luxurious commercial jet launches

The Crystal Skye – a privately-owned converted Boeing 777-200LR that accommodates just 88 passengers – boasts a spacious dining area, a mixologist and seats that convert into spacious beds.

The world’s most luxurious commercial jet ever has taken to the skies.

Launched by US-based travel company Crystal Cruises last month, tickets starting at Crystal Skye

The cost will start at $18,000 per person though the pricing and the itinerary is contingent upon at least 70 confirmed guests.

Passengers on Crystal Skye can eat, drink, socialise and relax, enjoying VIP service for the duration of their flight

Cuisine is prepared by an executive chef, in two state-of-the-art galleys.

Along with five-star interiors and Michelin-star inspired menus, passengers are also lavished with top-notch treatment thanks to on-board butlers.

There are a total of 88 armchair-style seats for passengers to relax in.

The Crystal Skye has the highest crew to passenger ratio of any twin-aisle aircraft and a non-stop range of 19.5 hours

This is the first aircraft to be launched by Crystal, which is best known for its luxury cruiseliners

Crystal’s former CEO, Edie Rodriguez, said that the new jets are ‘not just a thrilling new venture for Crystal, but a groundbreaking development in the luxury travel industry’

These transform into flat beds for those wanting to pack in a bit of sleep before landing at their next destination.

In the roomy bathrooms, guests can freshen up with a range of fragrant products from the luxury Italian fashion house Etro.

Other highlights include a bar (stocked with an array of fine wines), large flat-screen televisions, free global Wi-Fi and personal Bose noise-cancelling headphones.

The interiors of the Crystal Skye are designed to a high spec, but don’t compromise on safety, with seat belts on the dining chairs in case of turbulence during mealtimes

There are 14, 21 and 28-day itineraries available, whisking holidaymakers away to some of the ‘most exotic and remote’ locations in the world.

When the venture was unveiled in 2016, Crystal’s then CEO Edie Rodriguez said: ‘Crystal AirCruises is not just a thrilling new venture for Crystal, but a groundbreaking development in the luxury travel industry.

‘Even the savviest travellers and guests who have sailed on our award-winning ocean cruises many times will relish brand new opportunities to explore places impossible to reach by water, all with Crystal’s signature personalized service and the highest standard of luxury at every point of travel.’   < /p>

Come fly with me: Boasting a spacious dining area decked out with leather chairs, fine porcelain and crystalware, this looks like a swanky, top-dollar restaurant

Clues… The only giveaway that this is in fact a plane, is the row of porthole-style windows and a gently curved ceiling

Room for all: This is the interior of what has been heralded as the most luxurious commercial jet ever

Bedbound: The flat beds include cosy blankets and pillows to help guests get a good rest before their next adventure

Home away from home: There are 14, 21 and 28-day itineraries available on the plane, whisking holidaymakers away to some of the ‘most exotic and remote’ locations in the world

Sit back and relax: The jet features lots of social space – after gorging on a Michelin-star dinner, guests can recline on spacious couches

Getting an upgrade: Crystal already operates a Boeing 777-200ER (seen above) but as of last month it started running flights on its new five-star Boeing 777-200LR
