Mel Brooks’ granddaughter attends Young Frankenstein show

Director Mel Brooks, 91, saw his iconic comedy-horror film transformed into a stage production on Tuesday night.

However, it was his granddaughter Samantha, 19, who really stole the show – as she supported him at the opening of new musical, Young Frankenstein, at London’s Garrick Theatre.

The budding actress turned heads in a slinky burgundy velvet gown, complete with thigh-high split, as she helped her relative celebrate the big achievement.

Samantha was truly stunning in the dramatic velvet maxi dress, which cut into a striking diagonal strapless neckline to display her delicate decolletage to all.

Tightly hugging her slim frame all the way down, the dress then split into a daring thigh-high split – to up both the glamour and sex appeal of the look.

Tying her ensemble together with metallic heels and a trendy gold choker, Samantha stole the show from her famous grandfather as she posed ahead of the performance.

Discussing her blossoming career with USA Today, famous actor Mel admitted he is not surprised she was embarking on the same career path – as he believes grandchildren are the only relatives who actually ‘like’ you.

When asked whether he offers Samantha advice, he explained in 2015: ‘It’s giving up a lot for a 17-year-old, to allow me to voice anything that might even be vaguely negative. She’s really following in my footsteps.’

Before adding with a laugh: ‘In real life, your grandkids like you. Unlike anyone else in your family, they’re the only ones who really like you.’

Ay ca-Rumba! Debbie McGee also dazzled at the grand opening – enjoying a night off from her grueling Strictly Come Dancing rehearsals

Debbie McGee meanwhile looked younger than her years as she arrived in a chic pink frock – which left her impressively slender legs on show.

The saucy number pulled into a classic sweetheart neckline, to display her delicate decolletage to all, before it cinched in at her slim waist with a glittering diamanté belt.

Flashing her leggy figure at the front, the dress was then made more striking by extending into a longer, pleated skirt at the back – keeping the look sophisticated as well as stylish.

The radio presenter swept her famous bright blonde locks into a chic up-do, to draw attention to her radiant complexion – accentuated by a smoky eye and hot pink lip.

Debbie was the picture of confidence as she posed on the carpet, and enjoyed a night away from her successful stint on Strictly Come Dancing so far.

The blonde is partnered with Giovanni Pernice, and the pair have landed spots towards the top of the leaderboard with their show-stopping Paso Doble and Viennese Waltz.

Fans had rushed to Debbie’s defense on Saturday night however – claiming she was unfairly penalised for another sensational routine.

Judge Craig Revel Horwood deducted a point off Debbie’s Quickstep for coming out of hold for more than ten seconds, which is apparently not allowed.

The decision didn’t seem to sit too well with viewers at home as they flocked to Twitter to express their fury, writing: ‘I think Debbie MgGee is the unsung hero of this show. They’re over harsh on her when she’s being so amazing! #Strictly.’

And: ‘I’ve watched #Strictly since it started. When has this 10 second rule EVER come about????!!! Brilliant dance again, Debbie!!’

Yet, casting the drama aside, Debbie was joined by a number of high-profile guests as she relaxed at the exciting theatre event, including Kate Garraway and comedian Katherine Ryan.
