Ukraine arrested 32 vessels in absentia for calls to the ports of Crimea

At the request of the Prosecutor’s Office of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol, which is part of the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine, 32 sea vessels were arrested in absentia due to calls to the ports of Crimea.

This was reported by the press service of the department.

“32 vessels have been identified that violated the procedure for entering / leaving / entering the occupied peninsula, and arrests were imposed on these vessels on petitions and the prosecutor’s office of the autonomy,” the message says.

The department explained that they intend to apply to the Ukrainian Bureau of Interpol so that the indicated ships were put on the wanted list, as well as send requests to the authorities of other states for the actual arrest.

At the same time, it is not specified who exactly owns these ships and under what flags they fly. The prosecutor’s office stressed that the calls of any foreign ships into the closed seaports of Crimea entail criminal liability, as they are aimed at undermining the sovereignty of Ukraine.
