The builders have completed work on the pile foundation of the railway part of the bridge across the Kerch Strait, the Crimean Bridge information center reports.
“The last tubular pile is immersed in the base of the support No. 254, closest to the fairway in the Kerch direction,” the information center notes. In total, 6694 piles of three types were loaded into the bottom of the strait. Piles are located both at an angle and vertically. Reinforced concrete core protects piles in an aggressive marine environment. In the upper section of each pile, an armature frame is made, filled with hydraulic concrete.
Meanwhile, the requirements for the profile of railways are more stringent than for the profile of roads, so the railway bridge rises to the fairway more smoothly — from five to 35 m. )
On the section between Tuzla Island and the fairway, on the support No. 224, the deepest dive of the pile was noted — 108 m.
