In the Novosibirsk region there was a night training for pilots who graduated from a military aviation university this year.
Helicopters flew as low as possible –– 50 meters from the ground
Young pilots at the Tolmachevo military air base made night flights on Mi-8AMTSh-V Terminator helicopters and Mi-24 attack helicopters.
“The officers worked off landing <…> on unprepared sites at night using navigation instruments, and also made flights at extremely low altitudes –– up to 50 meters above the ground. Such flights make it possible to hide military vehicles as much as possible from enemy fire, using the natural cover of the area, and use army aviation most effectively to counter conventional illegal armed groups, ”the press service of the Central Military District said.
The department said that the Tolmachevo military airbase is part of the 14th Army of the Air Force and Air Defense of the Central Military District. It is armed with Mi-8AMTSh-V helicopters designed for the transport of goods, people and fire support from the air, as well as Mi-24 helicopters, which are used to destroy enemy personnel, armored vehicles and firing points.
Earlier, classes at the anti-terror group took place at the Tolmachevo military airbase: the military repelled the attack of a conditional enemy and did not allow terrorists to seize flying equipment.
