Around the Balakovo NPP a security zone has been created with a special legal regime. The corresponding order was issued by the government of the Russian Federation.
The purpose of the measures taken is to increase the level of anti-terrorism protection of nuclear hazardous facilities, including the nuclear power plant.
The creation of a NPP safety zone implies the introduction of restrictions on the entry and stay of citizens, the prohibition of flights of all types of aircraft (including unmanned) over the controlled territory. Some restrictions are also introduced on the conduct of economic and entrepreneurial activities within the newly created zone.
Now at the Balakovo NPP they are installing signs and signs to indicate new borders, and documentation is being developed for visiting and staying people.
At the BNPP, they emphasize that citizens can freely travel and visit their usual places of rest and summer cottages bordering the new security zone. The people promise to immediately inform about the adoption of additional measures to ensure a special legal regime in the newly created zones.
Rosatom takes 67% of the world NPP construction market
Rosatom’s order portfolio exceeds $ 133 billion. “Today, we have 35 power units already concluded as contracts and intergovernmental agreements. This is 67% of the global market for foreign construction of nuclear power plants, ”said Likhachev, TASS reports.
“The agreement on the creation of two large blocks in Uzbekistan is in the final stage. We hope that a number of other countries will become our partners and, as is customary to say, newcomers to nuclear energy, ”the head of Rosatom emphasized.
Likhachev on the eve returned from Saudi Arabia, where negotiations were held. “We see great potential for cooperation with this country not only in the field of our traditional proposals for large units, but also for medium and low power reactors,” Likhachev explained.
The state corporation fulfilled the state defense order by 100% in 2017 and set a record for electricity production. “All measures of the state program have been completed: 100% state defense order, an integrated assessment of the effectiveness of the state program implementation is 100%, the implementation of the main business indicators of the state program is 104%,” the head of the state corporation emphasized.
According to him, “last year a record was set – nearly 203 billion kilowatt-hours of production”: “This is the largest figure in the entire history of the new Russia. The record of the Soviet Union – 213 billion kilowatt-hours of production – is achievable in the near future. ”
A new department of Voronezh State University will be opened on the basis of Novovoronezh NPP
A new department of the Voronezh State University (Voronezh State University) will be opened at the Novovoronezh NPP, where both university staff and NPP specialists will work. It is planned to graduate from 15 to 25 specialists a year, said Viktor Vakhtel, associate professor of the Department of Nuclear Physics at the Voronezh State University during an away meeting of the international conference “Kernel-2018” on Thursday, July 5.
The conference itself, with the participation of more than 150 physicists from Russia and the CIS countries, as well as graduate students and senior students, is held at the Voronezh State University, which will be 100 years old in 2018.
In Russia, the conference is held 68 times. Its organizers are the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research, the Research Institute of Nuclear Physics of Moscow State University and St. Petersburg State University.
The main areas of discussion at the Novovoronezh NPP site were fundamental problems of nuclear energy and nuclear technologies, experience and problems of training specialists in nuclear physics, nuclear energy and nuclear technologies for Russia and foreign countries.
The latter topic is especially relevant for the Voronezh State University: in May of this year, the State University joined the Consortium of Supporting Universities of the State Atomic Energy Corporation Rosatom, including leading Russian universities – the National Research Nuclear University MEPhI, Bauman Moscow State Technical University and others.
– In connection with this event, we will open a new specialty – Nuclear Power Plants with a specialization in Operation and Engineering. We hope that student enrollment will begin next year, ”explained Viktor Vakhtel.
A nuclear power plant could explode in Ukraine: what happened
Employees of the Security Service of Ukraine together with the directorate of the state-owned enterprise “NAEC” Energoatom “partially blocked the operation of one of the Ukrainian nuclear power plants in order to prevent possible explosions due to the use of low-quality equipment.
So, an emergency could happen at the “South-Ukrainian NPP”: intelligence officers found that company officials created the conditions for a man-made accident.
The investigation documented that officials deliberately purchased counterfeit electrical equipment for systems that monitor the safety of a nuclear power plant.
During the pre-trial investigation, law enforcement officers also established the fact of delivery and installation of a power cable for the power supply, the use of which is not provided for by applicable norms, rules and standards for nuclear and radiation safety.
Now the SBU, together with the State Nuclear Regulatory Inspectorate of Ukraine, the State Enterprise NNEGC Energoatom and the management of the South-Ukrainian NPP, take urgent measures to dismantle and replace faulty equipment. A complex of urgent investigative actions is also carried out to establish all the circumstances of the crime.
