Uzbekistan strengthens scientific and technical cooperation with Israel

The first Uzbek-Israeli scientific conference «Contemporary Problems of Mathematics and Physics» is being held in Tashkent from 6 to 10 October. It was opened by the Minister of Higher and Secondary Special Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan Inomjon Majidov and the Ambassador of Israel to Uzbekistan Eduard Shapira.

According to journalist Victoria Martynova, the conference is being held at the initiative of the Ulugbek National University (Uzbekistan) and the Holon Institute of Technology. A large delegation of leading scientists from Israeli universities from the Haifa Technion, Tel Aviv University and the Holon Institute of Technology (HIT) arrived in Tashkent to participate in the conference.

The conference marks an important stage in the development of bilateral relations between Israel and Uzbekistan — one of the most friendly countries in the Muslim world for the Jewish state. It gives impetus to cooperation in the field of science and technology, opportunities for exchange of students and teachers, joint research projects in various fields.

The holding of this conference became possible thanks to the long-term personal friendship and scientific cooperation between the President of the KhIT Professor Eduard Yakubov and Academician Azimbay Sadullaev. In June of this year, Academician Sadullaev visited Israel at the invitation of Professor Yakubov, spoke at a scientific conference of HIT, and also got acquainted with the country and visited the Al-Aqsa mosque.

“Israel is like a native country for Uzbeks,” says academician Azimbay Sadullaev, “many of us have friends, relatives, former neighbors and work colleagues in Israel. We have many common problems. you».

Professor Eduard Yakubov emphasized another important aspect: “Israel is just beginning to discover the richest opportunities for cooperation with Uzbekistan, the most important country of Central Asia, its ancient and modern culture, brilliant university traditions, high-level scientific institutions. I am delighted with the great interest of young Uzbeks in our country. One of them said: «I dream of studying in Israel, and for this I am ready to learn Hebrew.»

During the visit of the Israeli scientific delegation, a memorandum was also signed between HIT and the Tashkent University of Information Technologies named after Muhammad Al-Khorazmiy on mutual cooperation in pedagogical and scientific activities. It was agreed to hold an international conference next year, in the near future HIT will open online courses for Uzbek students, it is planned to conduct joint research works and open joint startups in the field of IT, cyber security, energy, agriculture, etc.
