The weather during the World Festival of Youth and Students, which will be held in Sochi from 15 to 22 October, will correspond to climatic norms and the so-called velvet season. This was reported on Friday by TASS at the Sochi Center for Hydrometeorology and Environmental Monitoring.
“In October, the average monthly air temperature on the Black Sea coast is expected to be around and above the norm, the monthly amount of precipitation is also within the norm. The norm for the coastal zone of Sochi is the average daily air temperature above 15.4 degrees Celsius. In October, an average of 8- 10 days with rains, the norm for the monthly amount of precipitation is 158 mm, “the center said.
But experts do not exclude that the capricious subtropical climate can surprise the participants of the festival in the form of rainy weather. Light rainfall will take place in the first days of the youth forum.
“On the Black Sea coast on October 15, 9-14 degrees of heat are expected at night, 14-19 degrees in the daytime, in some places up to 22 degrees above zero,” the Sochi hydrometeorological center noted.
According to forecasts of the Krasnodar Regional Hydrometeorological Center, an increase in daytime temperatures up to 20 degrees in the region is expected by the end of the third decade of October.
“In late October – early November, Indian summer is expected throughout the Kuban,” the regional hydrometeorological center noted. The sea water temperature off the coast of Sochi is 21-22 degrees, many tourists are still continuing the swimming season.
The World Festival of Youth and Students will be held in Russia from 14 to 22 October. On the first day in Moscow, an international student carnival parade will take place, and the main events will be held in the Sochi Olympic Park from 15 to 22 October. More than 20 thousand young people will take part in the forum – representatives of public organizations, teachers, politicians. Applications for participation in the festival were received from more than 180 countries of the world.
